A four-year degree is suggested but not required.

The strength of your educational credentials can provide you an advantage over other teachers with TEFL certificates who may be applying for the same job. And, many overseas schools will pay more to teachers based upon their educational accomplishments.

We do however, require that our teacher trainees be ambitious, energetic and up for a challenge. 

Teaching English overseas can be a positive, life-changing experience, but one for which you must be prepared mentally - willing to meet new people, make new friends and explore new cultures while living in a foreign land.
